Joanne Turner – Recording Secretary: Joanne Turner moved to the Las Vegas valley in 2015, where her husband, Major Casey Turner, MD, is stationed at Nellis Air Force Base as a Tactical Critical Care Evacuation Team Emergency Medicine Physician. She earned her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Puget Sound. As an Occupational Therapist, she has worked in a variety of settings, including acute care/UCUs, acute rehab, outpatient neurorehabilitation, and outpatient pediatrics. Her specialty is neurorehabilitation and she also has an interest in adaptive sports. She has volunteer experience with therapeutic horseback riding, the Paralympic Sports Club of Las Vegas, and the Air Force Trials from the Warrior Games. Joanne’s hobbies and interests include West Coast Swing dancing, traveling, camping, hiking, biking, skiing, and alpine ski touring. She is usually accompanied by her husband and two dogs during her outdoor adventures. Her biggest outdoor accomplishments thus far are climbing to the summit of Mt. Rainier during her husband’s first deployment, and completing the WOmen’s Alpine Finishing School with the She Jumps Organization. Joanne is looking forward to bringing her knowledge and expertise to CCMSA and working closely with the local Medical Community.
